Hays are working with a leading not-for-profit organisation that offer mental health support services to young people across Western Australia. The Organisation is experiencing a period of growth and are looking for an experienced Mental Health Clinician to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a rare and exciting FIFO opportunity working a 1:1 roster in remote WA.
Your new role
Work in collaboration with the local team to provide a range of youth mental health services including therapeutic counselling, group work, health education and case management services. Main accountabilities of this position include:
• Contribute to the delivery of effective intake and mental health response to young people across the local community
• Work closely with youth, families and community services to ensure safe and quality care practices are undertaken
• Implement a flexible model of service to increase client accessibility. Conducting sessions as and where appropriate and safe for both parties
• Utilise psycho-social assessment tools to determine intake suitability through initial screening assessments
• Deliver culturally appropriate therapeutic intervention and care coordination services
• Partake in regular clinical case review meetings
• Maintain accurate and timely case notes and records in internal database systems
• Support the Engagement Officers in facilitation of a Youth Reference Group
• Work in collaboration with other providers across the community to support collaboration of services
• Represent the organisation at external networking events and meetings
• Assist in the development and delivery of a Community Awareness Plan
What you'll need to succeed
• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing + active registration with relevant body
• Minimum 3 years' experience working as a mental health practitioner, preferably working with youth and families in a clinical setting
• Experience working across Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
• Sound understanding of the mental health sector in a clinical capacity
